Artist and former high school teacher Tomás Barceló Castelá, of Spain, has been honing his craft since childhood. Over years of exploring different mediums, clay, cardboard, filmmaking, he finally took sculpting more seriously around 2014. Over the years of searching, finding, recreating and learning, he landed in a place he could take the ancient and traditional techniques bouncing inside of him and merge them with his contemporary understanding of artistic expression. Much of his work has a steampunk texture, “anachronism as a creative principle” as he puts it.
